Dua
Dua Lipa is a Brit artist/singer from London United Kingdom on August 22nd, 1995. She decided to sign to Warner Bros Records in 2014 following her work as a model. She released her self-titled debut album in the year 2017. The album climbed to the top spot at No. 3 on the U.K. Charts. The album had eight singles that were released, including Be the 1 I.D.G.A.F. and New Rules. In the United States it peaked as the 6th most popular album. Lipa's album, which has since been certified Platinum in various countries across the world, won her the two Brit Awards (in the year of 2018) for British female single artist, and British Breakthrough artist. Dua Lipa was born 22nd August 1995, in London in the UK to Kosovo Albanian Anesa Rexha, and Dukagjin Lipa. Through her maternal grandmother, she has Bosnian ancestry. Her ancestors can also be identified back to Peja, the Kosovo cities of Peja. Lipa's grandparents were both historians. She has a brother Gjin Lipa as well as a sister Rina. Lipa was influenced musically by her father, who is also the lead musician and vocalist for The Kosovan group Oda. The band was heavily influenced by their father's music which featured his music compositions and songs like David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa was just five years old when she began singing. When she was in her 9th year she began singing at Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa was featured on the hit song If I'm Gone You with Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. Lipa signed her first record deal in 2014 with Warner Bros. Records. The first single she released was New Love was released on August 15th, 2015.
