
Salma Hayek Pinault born Salma Valgarma Hayek-Jamesenez on September 2, 1966, is an American and Mexican actor and producer. In Mexico, she began her acting career playing the character of Teresa in the Telenovela (1989-1991) and El Callejon de los Milagros (1995), where she was nominated for an Ariel Award. With roles in films like Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999) In 1999, she quickly made her mark in Hollywood. Hayek's character as Frida Kahlo painting artist in Frida (2002) which is a biographical film she wrote and produced, earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress nomination[66. Also, she was awarded her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek appeared in the action-oriented Once Upon a Time in Mexico movies in the years after and then remained focused on directing.
